Christy Turncliff was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and has been singing since the age of 2. This can be proven by her parents many recordings of her singing "Country Roads" on tape.  She has been singing professionally the last 10 years.  Her background in music started with learning to play piano at a young age and continuing into her teen years with The Royal Conservatory of Music.  However, her true love was singing which she would do after everyone left the house.  Out would come that big, loud voice and the walls would shake.  In her later years a friend of hers suggested (strongly) that she enter a karaoke competition at the local legion.  Christy ended up getting second in this competition but by then she had got the performing bug.  Her sister figured she needed to keep going and organized a jam group.  This group continued on into a band that played together for the next six years called Dekades.  Also during this time she entered a solo contest with the Hard Rock Casino.  Out of approximately 200 applicants she ended up with second place.  After Dekades broke up she took a break for about a year but soon realized that not singing wasn't going to work for her so she joined the band Playlist. They were performing at casinos and corporate events around the greater Vancouver area. Then Christy met up with singer songwriter Ken McCoy and the chemistry between them was a perfect match. The two of them formed what is now Turncliff McCoy.
